Burmese Cats 2009 Calendar. As their name suggests, the Burmese originated from Burma and were originally brought to the UK in the late 1800s. At this time, they were known as Chocolate Siamese but were not popular and died out in the UK and Europe. The breed came back to the UK in 1949.
