Bouvier des Flandres (US) 16 Month 2012 Calendar. This robust, cattle-driving, cart-pulling farm dog existed in a number of coat and colour varieties until 1965 when present standards were written.
During World War 1, the French used the Bouvier in its medical corps, but numbers in existence declined rapidly shortly afterwards. It was only through the Belgian Kennel Clubs intervention that the breed was rescued from complete oblivion. The Bouvier is now a popular dog both in its native homeland of Belgium and France and also throughout North America. It is only one of two varieties of Bouviers to have survived to the present day.
