Rhodesian Ridgeback 16 Month 2012 Calendar. This is a large format square wall calendar which features this wonderful breed which was first created in Zimbabwe in 1922. The Rhodesian Ridgeback was born out of the amalgamation of 5 other breeds which were selected for their various outstanding attributes. The dog was later taken into northern Africa and the so called "lion country" in what was then Rhodesia.
The Rhodesian Ridgeback was never used to attack lions, instead, it was used as a true hound, trailing big game, and then barking to attract hunter's attention. Nowadays, this loyal affectionate animal serves as guard dogs and companions.
