Squirrels 16 Month 2012 Calendar. Squirrels are popular wild animals found in many countries across the world but predominantly in Europe, Asia and North America.
They are sometimes referred to as "Tree Rats" in that they have managed to adapt and colonise parks found in towns and cities as well as the usual native woodland habitats.
Europe predominantly has Red Squirrel's noted for their red coloured fur whilst most of North America contains the Grey Squirrels.
In the UK the Red Squirrel's population has declined dramatically ever since the introduction of the Grey Squirrel. Nowadays the Red Squirrel population has been confined to Scotland and other remote areas as well as islands separated from the mainland.
